Road from Tinajo to Tiagua
The road from Tiagua to Tinajo has now reopened and has been much improved. This should be of benefit to TSOs who may have got lost in the diversions when they have hired a car at the airport!

New Development - update
My sources tell me that hopefully work will be starting soon. A retaining wall around the stadium is in the course of being built as part of the new hotel project.

Los Dolores Festival 2011
The programme for the Fiestas en Honor a Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores 2011 was presented at the Cabildo of Lanzarote yesterday.
Romería de Los Dolores (Pilgrimage of Sorrows)
This is an amazing event, with thousands of people in traditional costune walking miles across the island to Los Dolores Church at Mancha Blanca. Worth trying to get there on the Saturday evening!
The traditional procession and offerings to the Virgen de Los Dolores will be held on Saturday 17th September, starting from the Terrero de Lucha de Tinajo (Lucha wrestling ring) in Tinajo at 4pm.
The Cabildo and Centres for Arts, Culture & Tourism have arranged for refreshments points along the pilgrim route to distribute water and sandwiches. These will be at the Monumento al Campesino and next to the church in Mancha Blanca. Some portable toilets will also be distributed along the route.

Accessible apartments renewed.
TRi W.W.W. charity checks the amenities at the fully renewed accessible apartments in Club La Santa.
The first two accessible* renewed apartments are ready to be used by wheelchair users. In order to ensure that all equipment and details are suitable for them, the Club La Santa management invited Yeray Betancor, secretary of the Lanzarote based charity TRi W.W.W. (Together reaching Illusions, World Winners Way) to check them out.

Club La Santa: Renovations, rooms, sushi and steaks
FROM CLS:
As you can imagine at Club La Santa HQ we’re literally counting down the days as some renovations are set to be completed within days and that means some new rooms and a new look restaurant.
Before we set off on a tour around the renovations, let’s start off with some food and the soon-to-be-renamed La Bodega. There’s a competition going on at the moment for staff to come up with a new name for the restaurant and that won’t be the only change, as regulars will probably do a double-take when they see the improved facade.
We’re expecting to open mid September with a brand new concept – Sushi and Steaks! We can’t wait…
Moving on to the accommodation and with building work reducing, so will the noise, which will be a relief to everyone and we can only thank all our customers for their patience.
Towers One and Three should come into use this Autumn. All of the apartments have been renovated. In Tower 3 there are brand new kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms and we can’t wait to show you the pictures.
Moving round to Tower 51, which has already come into use. We’ve got a few apartments with extra large bathrooms and disabled facilities.
The next set of building work will commence around November time.
We are getting television and internet very soon, although we haven’t been given a date.
A wall outside the stadium is being built , that will protect from dust when they start to dig in the area for the new apartments. The boxing ring is still intact.
